“We're very careful with hiring in order to avoid layoffs”, was literally what I was told in my final interview with Cloudflare when I was offered my role, about 8 months ago.
Unfortunately, I discovered this was in fact not accurate, as I was part of the latest round of surprise layoffs earlier this week. No warning ... and looking forward to closing some big wins this fiscal year. Yet, I was still let go via a cold, impersonal, surprise 15 minute meeting. No detail or concrete answers provided, just the news that I'll have to figure out my own healthcare once this month ends with no further support.
As someone who was in the job market last year, I understand the potentially difficult road ahead. I have sold successfully for Cisco, LinkedIn, and Cloudflare over the past 8+ yrs to a variety of customers including public sector, enterprise, and mid market both directly and through channel partners.
Coming from a sales background with a focus on partners, I am uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between sales teams and channels. I have experience building relationships, creating/running campaigns, formulating GTM plans, and closing large deals.
And to Marc Boroditsky, Domenico Batteate and the rest of the sales leadership team... I urge you to consider the feedback shared by those of us affected by them.
