I didn’t even know blind people could learn how to echolocate let alone sighted people could? The fuck? Who was going to tell me I could become a clicker

@gavi Good news: you can become a clicker!

@gavi Yeah I used to know a kid around my age, slightly younger who was sighted and very likely also in the AuDHD spectrum who knew how to navigate in the dark using clicking and "reverb spaces". And I've heard of it being a skill some blind people develop: but it always struck me as something that. Wasn't really a thing just anyone could up and decide to learn.

@gavi My dad told me that Ved Mehta rode around Pomona College by echolocation in the fifties; it was in his autobiography.

After the Spy article attacking Mehta came out, I wondered if he'd made it up, but apparently other people do it...
