I know that the Giant Bomb wiki was old and didn't really have the draw anymore to receive the kind of maintaining it should have gotten. I get why IGDB was made.
but every time I try to use IGDB I find some new frustration with it. what would possibly compel someone to make all the support/moderation for a whole website go through a discord server
why would they then make that discord server read-only unless you give discord a phone number

@esm great question! it's a subsidiary of Twitch, maybe there's some weird budgeting/prioritization thing happening, but I wouldn't doubt it's as simple as "this seemed like the cheaper/easier option, and gamers use discord anyways right?"
