I have no idea what happened but somehow after updating my computer blue and red seem to have been swapped with each other but only on x11 and not wayland

i am so confused right now

it seems like wayland is perfectly fine, but the login screen is fucked and screen sharing is currently broken on wayland and not on x11

I would really rather not have to backup my /home/ and reinstall because then I have to set up all my programs and stuff but I have no idea what the problem even is, let alone how to fix it

well I just took a screenshot and when I came back into wayland the colors looked fine so I guess i know the problem is somewhere between drawing the image and sending it to the display(?)

how does this happen. how do i search for this. the only things i can find are 10-20 year old forum posts that arent helpful to me in the slightest and arent even the same issue. please help

@AbsolutePotato color profiles, check your DE settings, there's a red-blue color swap example color profile shipped that you should find and disable.

@cyrus wasn't this, but I was able to get it. Found a post on the linux mint forums from the last 24 hours with the same issue. Turns out it was from a bleeding edge mesa drivers package that apparently is known to cause issues and updated in the past day or so and introduced this problem. iirc i installed it at some point because I was trying to get the newest vulcan extensions for ray tracing working but i dont remember if it ever did.
