Is removing access to older releases for the sake of security actually being secure or is it more of a "security through obscurity" thing?

GrapheneOS doesn't have an archive of their releases and when I asked about it someone said it's for "security reasons"

I don't know if they're associated with the project, but they're in the GrapheneOS discord.

I wanna also be clear, i do use GrapheneOS and enjoy it, but based off my small interaction in the discord and seeing that one Louis Rossman video kinda has me thinking of installing a different rom

ffs when i called Graphene a rom in the discord they acted like I was saying a fucking slur or something /s

@tortoise@wetdry.world i mean many other projects, even big companies dont hide old releases

@theking That's what I'm thinking.

Same person who said it's for security btw

Again, I don't think they're someone who works on Graphene but if they are holy shit the people who work on it aren't the best at talking to others (and that's coming from me!)
