Ever since Firefox 138 I've repeatedly had various issues with pages just sitting for a couple seconds before it loads, image loading just halting in the middle, etc.

I would have assumed it was yet another AI scraper pandemic causing many separate sites to all be sluggish, but after I had it happen on locally running stuff and a fair amount of throbber ball of doom which no kind of issues on the server and networking side could cause, it's almost definitively the browser itself.

I really hope it'll be fixed in a future update. I had to switch from Firefox on Android because for every update it would become slower and more unstable, until the point where it was basically unusable and I had to pick between downgrading to a several months old version or switching to Chrome (I ended up doing the latter).

I really can't handle having to switch to Chromium on the desktop too. I just want my Furryfox to work, please.

@soop What does that help with anything?

@ROllerozxa Not saying that's at all relevant to the performance issues, no, just please use a fork of Firefox if you care about privacy and ethics.
