I think it's a different level of cringe when discord servers act like discord moderation puppets and ban people using custom clients or deleting custom emojis

@brawaru@mstdn.social@lo discord mod here, if I see a person using message logger or hidden channels viewer, they are getting instantly banned. couldn't care less about discord tos, but no one is entitled to invade other people's privacy o7 even worse deleted messages get brought up and responded to, some people really go out of their way to feed the trolls. we deleted them for a reason, ffs
@brawaru@mstdn.social@lo ooh. iirc the ‘free emojis’ w/a uses masked links, so maybe this what triggers their mod bot? on modrinth we have a filter for masked links for peeps w/o prior activity, since those are used in ‘steam gift’ scams. sadly barely any bots can check masked links. but then, we also delete CDN links of those users too, cuz malicious ones may link all sorts of content, not just emoji, and even emoji themselves can be unsafe, cuz discord doesn't scan them 
@brawaru @lo I think the point of the loggers is to see if someone keeps posting something offensive and deleting it to avoid the ban, but fair enough, not what most people use it for
The responding to deleted messages thing is especially dumb, ngl, people with weak nerves shouldn't ever use a logger in any context
As for the hidden channels viewer, it can only see the names of the channels, not actually what's in them, but if there's any channels that the existence of has to stay a secret, that one is fair enough too
Although, I think the OP meant servers who ban you just because you screenshotted your Discord and it had a skin that isn't one of the Nitro skins
@brawaru@mstdn.social@Sparkwave I think all servers keep logs on message edits and deletes, so it's often hard to hide the evidence, and it's acted upon when noticed. but can also ask the mods to check anytime
hidden channels, it'd be one thing discord just leaked channel names, but they leak description, last pin time, last msg time, and permissions for the channel. but hey - a reminder to keep secret stuff on other server, cuz discord is bad at their stuff
