oh I think I get why people hate hl1 interloper
like it's the very first "room" and everything I think I'm supposed to do just gets me killed
and I can't figure out the "puzzle" properly cause I got infinitely spawning enemies after my ass
oh there is no puzzle there's just a hidden cave somewhere I gotta enter what the fuck man
alright finished hl1 mmod on hard
interloper felt very spammy with enemies and I ended up cheesing a bunch of fights with the hivehand's new tertiary fire
nihilanth was uhhhh not fun, what ruined it for me was the teleports to other arenas, weren't it for that it would've been just an okay fight
oh yeah also I bought black mesa, curious to see how it handles things
oh my god it's actually so insane to see characters like kleiner and eli before the combine took over
it's so weird like I've seen the hl1 intro a dozen times, and seeing it completely redone in bms is so familiar yet new
oh god bms did the magnum real dirty, the sound is so unsatisfying
time to turn to the workshop
thank you bms for keeping a save history
sooo I got to xen, for some reason it sorta gives me metroid prime 3 phaaze vibes
I think the aliens' og designs don't really fit in new xen though, I think the devs should've made alternate designs for when they're in their native habitat
could've easily been explained in-universe as earth's atmosphere reacting with their bodies and discoloring them or smth
healing pools are introduced so organically it feels effortless, it's insane coming from og xen
also I really dig all the human equipment littered around the place from black mesa's past expeditions, it adds a lot to an already really cool looking place
I can't put into words how much black mesa's xen feels like something straight out of metroid prime, I love it so much
black mesa interloper spoilers
holy shit interloper does good worldbuilding that isn't confusing within the first 10 minutes of gameplay this is insane
