this #map is very useful:

xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/

saw the one in 1999 in France, was mostly cloudy, remember it getting cold more than anything else

is it worth going the extra miles for 100% totality or is like 99.5% going to be almost as impressive?

A Double Sunrise from a Partial #Eclipse

The Sun appeared to rise twice in Quebec during a partial eclipse, with the #Moon obscuring parts of it. A video captures this rare event over the St. Lawrence River, showing 'double sunrise' and 'horns' as the eclipsed Sun emerges. The phenomenon lasted under two minutes.

Parker: The Solar System from Near the Sun

NASA's Parker Solar Probe captured a time-lapse from inside #Mercury's orbit, showing coronal streamers, a Coronal Mass Ejection, and #planets like Mercury and #Venus. Between #Earth and #Mars, #Comet Tempel 1 appears. The video also shows high-energy solar particles. This data helps us understand space weather impacts on Earth.

Cute #eclipse data on @kate 's grid.iamkate.com/ - the yellow is the *estimated* solar generation in the UK (It's not actually metered directly) and you can see the dip around the eclipse - but you can also see the blip in the gas (orange) generation to compensate which is definitely real; curiously it seems like there's a slight flat in the wind generation there - is that real due to heat or is it just noise?
