Sorry for the delay on this! In the recent blog post for May 2025 [pretendo.network], @pretendo has announced that you'll be able to play on banned stages again during Ranked Battles for a limited time starting from June 7th to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Splatoon!
For context, Nintendo restricted some stages from appearing in certain modes during Ranked Battle rotations because they were unfair to players. You can still play these map+mode combos in private battles, but Pretendo will be allowing them to appear again in Ranked Battles for a limited time!
I hope we'll be able to get some more exact information on how long this will last soon.
Disclosure: I am a staff member for Pretendo Network. I did not receive early access to this information to my knowledge, but I was aware about discussions surrounding this.
