Lord knows there are people in the open source community that would gladly draw something for them. Lord knows individuals like Tyson Tan, who have far greater artistic capabilities than me, have been well known to be very supportive of open source projects.
There are also probably tens of thousands of small nameless artists in the open source space that would've loved a shoutout by one of the largest linux distros.
But nope, they didn't even ask anybody and instead made slop, and its unlikely that they'll ever gain the trust of artists ever again with this venture.
