sometimes I forget that widescreen/HD TVs existed before 2008

@eblu my family got a 1080p samsung tv in 2008. also turns out we had a widescreen philips LCD TV (720p?) in mid-2006, which is when the prices started coming down a lot

@fusoxide the first Big TV that my family had was when the residents of a house that we moved into decided to leave behind their projection TV because those are hell to move. I think it was both widescreen and maybe HD but I wasn't ever really aware of it.

my first actual HDTV was this hand me down from my grandparents in early 2013. I still have it, it's served me well even if it only goes up to 1080i
