how do I cure myself from my chronic hunting for new gmod weapon packs that are consistent and of high quality
I've had the bad luck of discovering urban coalition last time which is of quality so high that it makes most other weapon packs look bad in comparison
these days I've been looking into TFA insurgency weapons, I like the animation style, variety, and lighter customization compared to UC, but their problem is the lack of consistency
picture creator n.1 who has their pack of insurgency weapon addons - most weapons are well made but then there are a couple nasty ones with subpar sounds, animation or whatever other nitpick
you may think an easy fix is just getting the same weapon but ported by creator n.2 who happened to do a better job, right? well too bad creator n.2 makes laser sights comically thick for no reason whatsoever and it's not something you can just fix through configuration

I also tried MW base after months of seeing tons of weapons made for it, and uhh kind of a letdown
the customization UI isn't very good compared to arccw, I miss the pieces of trivia about weapons and attachments, the guns' feel is surprisingly not as good as UC or other weapon packs', keybinds aren't implemented as well as other weapon bases
but all that is minor nitpicks compared to the ridiculous loading times (every weapon category's addon weighs at least 500MB on its own, and there are like 4-5 categories PLUS a 1GBish base) and crashes I experienced twice in a row just by picking up a weapon from a save I made
also the weapons don't even look worthy of those insane filesizes so I have no idea what's up with that
craft_pig's SCP:5k pack on arc9 is quite nice, shame it runs on arc9 which singlehandedly drops framerate by like 5fps last time I checked
