Luxocrates’ Project to Get C64 Commando Music Running On Arcade
I am back from DragonCon, but got hit by a staggering blow from life (which I will not mention the details of here) that's going to take me a long time to recover from. So in the meantime, please enjoy this 19 minute video in which someone on Youtube d

VARIOUS ARTISTS
TeeVee Toons: The Commercials
1989 U.S. pressing

This was too goofy and too unique not to get today.

Tons of famous commercial jingles from products ranging from cigarettes, chocolate, pet food, cola, cereal… all kinds of musical bits and bobs that are permanently tattooed on my psyche from when I was a little kid.
Some of them I had never heard before, like some of the beer and cigarette ones.
Pretty fun stuff!

VAMPIRE WEEKEND
Contra
2010 Europe pressing

I have a great deal of love and affection for the first two Vampire Weekend albums. After Contra, I’m pretty much tuned out, as nothing after it really did anything for me.

This AND the self-titled debut are regular #autumn favorites of mine.
They’re both so unique and feature such impeccable songcraft, they are endlessly playable.

LEADBELLY
Take This Hammer
1965 Canada pressing

September is finally here!
Fall is MY time of year, and there’s no better artist for me to listen to today.

The weather is gorgeous outside, and “Rock Island Line” is playing.
Nothing could be better.

I have the next 6 weeks off, and then it’s off to Boston for a week long visit. Before I leave though, I’m gonna be listening to a lot of records like THIS, and a bunch of my other Fall go-tos.

My love for LEADBELLY is well documented on my Masto. I have about 30 or so records of his, many which have the same songs on it, but I do not care.

If there’s one artist from way before my time that I would have been OBSESSIVE about had I been alive then, it’s certainly Huddie.

I’ve never been able to explain it, but his music stirs my soul greatly.

have seen some post where someone talked about a library for decoding the format used to store information on VHS and audio tapes.

Even though it is kinda interesting that someone wrote a library for that. I can't stop but wonder HOW do you even rip these WITHOUT playing and recording them?!?

I had a random dream, completely out of the blue, where my area got its Toys R Us back and it was so beautiful... and so disappointing when I realized it was just a dream.

I mean, I know TRU is on its way back but I've seen the new stores: nothing but a shell of their former selves. The store in my dream was like the big box style of my childhood but about twice as big, with an aesthetic that felt both retro and modern.

Reality sucks, man :rp_depre:

Well folks, YouTube's mighty algorithm has decided that it's not going to recommend my last video to anyone for some reason. If you haven't seen it yet (and the numbers say most of you haven't!) please give it a look and recommend it to soem friends! Or enemies! Whatever! Reposting would be great, too!

A cute minimalist puzzle/action platformer where you play as a fox and grab temporary powers to access the path to the next level

+Very impressed by the pixelart and the fact it's an actual genesis game
+Game is short and didn't overstay its novelty
+Really liked the simple but effective story told without any text
-Enemies sprite look pretty bad
-Too many trial and error, blind jumps and leap of faiths but at least they rarely punish you
