Keeping it dark on my Saturday CURE-A-THON.

Pound for pound, one of the three best Cure albums for me, and one I revisit fairly regularly.
“The Hanging Garden” definitely makes my Cure essential list. Give me only ten Cure songs til the end of days, that’s definitely one of them.

No rays of sunshine to be found here. Just Robert in full-tilt mope.

I mentioned grabbing the Goatblood CD today for #BandcampFriday, but here's one final post with links to the rest of my purchases today - as usual, the genres are a wild mix. Some singles, some EPs, some new releases, some from a couple years back, and genres ranging from electronica to rap to grind to punk/post-punk. And mind you, I don't buy ANYTHING (or recommend anything here) lightly. I make sure I love it, and I will actually listen to it.

Live at Birmingham University on 2 May 1980, #OnThisDay 45 years ago!

Just from listening it is not yet abundantly clear that #IanCurtis would take his own life only a couple weeks from this gig. The band sounds tight as always, Ian sounds dreary as always and yet at this point the troubles were stacking up so high that it was insurmountable. This recording is as uplifting and danceable as it is full of doom.

Zwei Tage, sieben Bühnen, lokale Newcomer neben internationalen Größen – ein Festival, das auf Vernetzung, Vielfalt und die Stärkung der Musik-Community setzt.
Mit Acts wie A Place to Bury Strangers (NYC, Noise-Rock-Legenden), Divide & Dissolve (AUS, politisch aufgeladener Doom/Drone), YHWH Nailgun (experimenteller NYC-Post-Punk), Ceremony East Coast (lo-fi Noise aus Brooklyn), ZAHN (Berlin, Kraut/Post-Punk) und Test Plan (London, Post-Punk-Noise-Rock) und Bühnen von Synästhesie, New Colossus Festival (NYC), Shameless/Limitless, Salon Oblique & natürlich auch 8MM bleibt das Line-up der Underground-Ästhetik treu: roh, intensiv, unbequem schön.
