You load an EPUB and its audiobook, and it highlights each word as the narrator says it, karaoke style. The speech recognition runs on your phone, so it all works offline.\n\nI made it because my brain wanders. When the words light up I never lose my place, and if I zone out for a second I just look back and the highlight is right there. (Same reason I always record my blog posts and post them next to the text. Friends with ADHD got me into that habit.)\n\nalso I made this video myself, and I’m way too proud of the little piano sync at the end lol\n\nNo account, no ads, your books never leave your device. There’s also a built-in library of 37 public domain classics you can read along with for free.\n\nReading and listening are free, read along on the classics is free, and read along on your own books is free for the first 4 hours. After that it’s a one-time $9.99 for the Full app. No subscription.\n\nThis is my first closed-source project and the first thing I’ve ever charged for. It’s the most effort I’ve ever put into anything, and it might be what finally stops me from dipping into my savings to keep Altbot running.
