News / Domains: All European domains are moving to nintendo.com now too

As I reported quite recently, the Japanese Nintendo website has recently moved domains and it seems like European regions are next to follow, starting tomorrow. The existing domains will continue to redirect to the new ones for the time being.

Stumbled across this article by Nintendo Life earlier which talks about this: nintendolife.com/news/2024/04/

Here are the new links for websites in each region:

🇬🇧: Nintendo.com/en-gb/
🇫🇷: Nintendo.com/fr-fr/
🇩🇪: Nintendo.com/de-de/
🇮🇹: Nintendo.com/it-it/
🇪🇸: Nintendo.com/es-es/
🇳🇱: Nintendo.com/nl-nl/
🇵🇹: Nintendo.com/pt-pt/

🇩🇪 🇨🇭: Nintendo.com/de-ch/
🇮🇹 🇨🇭: Nintendo.com/it-ch/
🇫🇷 🇨🇭: Nintendo.com/fr-ch/
🇩🇪 🇦🇹: Nintendo.com/de-at/
🇳🇱 🇧🇪: Nintendo.com/nl-be/
🇫🇷 🇧🇪: Nintendo.com/fr-be/

I'm not sure whether I like this change happening widespread, it makes it harder to remember each domain, since I have to now type nintendo.com/en-GB instead of nintendo.co.uk which is much easier imo.

I wonder where My Nintendo Store will be going unless it's going to be something dumb like store-uk.nintendo.com instead of store.nintendo.co.uk

@splatoon@lemmy.world @splatoon I would complain, but maybe it'd actually mean that my ISP lets me on the store

@primm @splatoon@lemmy.world what ISP you with lol

at least Virgin Media or O2 has no problem whatsoever

@primm @splatoon@lemmy.world good old BT Group

that's funny ngl considering EE sells Nintendo Switch stuff lol
