@memes eastern devs do that too, just check how much square enix games weight and how bad they run (nier automatata, final fantasy xv) and i know other studios I just can't recall rn

Many of the big studios that develop for beefy consoles and pc with "high graphics" do end up weighting a ton bc they get optimized the bare minimum to work ok on consoles and probably due to time restraints they don't even bother with how much the game weights or they just come with 4k textures that don't even look that good and also aren't available to be downloaded separately (even if you won't even be capable of running them). Sometimes the problem also is that textures haven't been properly compressed or compressed at all (same thing with cutscenes and video data in general)
