Can Tuya Zigbee devices work directly with Home Assistant with a USB dongle (with no Tuya hub) or do they need to be flashed in order to do that?
Got it to work! Was just incorrectly setting up my adapter.
@luana if they're true ZigBee devices, they'll work without a Tuya hub.
As long as HA has a ZigBee coordinator, of course!
@luana I have a couple of Tuya Zigbee temperature sensors (otherwise a fleet of Aqara ones). I did not use a Tuya hub, or account: just ZHA.
The Tuya were harder to connect to ZHA in the first place, and are prone to disconnecting and staying that way. I also suspect they are reading about half a degree high, and may be a little slower ot adapt.
They were very cheap though. And I like the AAA batteries (although not sure how long they will actually last).
I got these ones: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007755890938.html
@luana I also have found this compatibility list, which was quite useful:

@luana Tuya Zigbee is a safer bet than Tuya Wifi but your coordinator needs to have support for the device for you to get everything out of it(sensors/switches etc) so spend a little time searching the internet for your device and coordinator(z2m or zha)
@luana They work without problems. The entities that are exposed may vary between ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT.
@kaiserkiwi @luana yep exactly :)
