And also BreezeWiki, which is an alternative frontend for fandom : https://breezewiki.com/
And if you must use Fandom for something: Use something like breezewiki to access it.

@glimmer@blahaj.zone@keat@wetdry.world It's a real shame too, unfortunately not every wiki owner is going to have the knowledge (or resources) to set up MediaWiki. So much useful knowledge is out there on Fandom.
@keat@glimmer setting up the mediawiki is the easy part. the hard part is getting readers to stop visiting the old wiki. fandom has no way to retire wikis, so newer independent wikis have to compete with the old one for SEO. the independent fallout wiki (https://fallout.wiki) is still below the outdated fandom one in search results (at least, for me and many others)
