anyone who cares about people calling the fediverse "mastodon" is so fucking annoying like damn you could've chosen anything to get mad about and you get mad about someone who doesn't know all the lore using the term "mastodon" to describe the social network they use mastodon to interact with

@ipg i dont care that much but i think it matters more than both of those. the situation is different. its like calling all email gmail or calling git github, there are consequences when people dont understand the whole decentralization thing properly. but i think its probably the fault of the services for not explaining that properly
