@GossiTheDog the implication is that the Pentagon targeted US citizens with propaganda
that was my initial assumption from reading the headline, so it misled me
and the contents of the article dispelling that doesn't make the headline any less misleading

@iagondiscord @GossiTheDog the headline specifically says it was to undermine China so I think the implication of that is that they ran the anti-vax campaign in China and their sphere of influence.

I haven't read the article yet so I don't know if that is correct but that was my initial reading of the headline.

I think as far as headlines go this one seems pretty good, it's impossible for a headline writer to anticipate and address every possible assumption of the reader in a sentence.

@devkitsune [furry.engineer] Yeah, there is nothing misleading in this headline. They ran an anti-Sinovac campaign in the Philippines. That was an anti-vaxx campaign that they ran and they shouldn't be running any anti-vaxx campaign and that's that. It's making an awful world worse.

@iagondiscord @GossiTheDog The actual headline: "Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic"

It also misled me to believe Chinese citizens were the target audience, but they weren't (as it doesn't make any sense).
