my favorite thing about the fact we can't have personal dedicated servers anymore is that everybody in the south hemisphere just can't play multiplayer games with decent ping because nobody bothers making servers for them

nope, no servers for you, you're less profitable than the northern hemisphere

@halva apparently there is only 1 AWS datacenter location in the entirety of Brazil

@lulu @ipg @halva it is and is also iirc one of the most expensive AWS regions in the world

@lulu @ipg @halva there are several more "local zones" which basically let you have us-east-1 ec2 instances that are physically located in south america (or elsewhere in the eastern US) but those are also expensive and only support a small number of ec2 instances types and basically nothing else
