Fedi via Teletext has to be one of the best ideas I've had in a while
@enfys What a blast from the past, teletext! So cool!
@enfys this is so awesome. i had a buster bamboozle xmas jumper and no one knew who he was! doing the lords work bringing teletext to the tooting masses
@enfys do tell. I would like to know more how this was done.
@enfys sooo cool
@enfys wonderful!
@enfys Image descriptions and alt text on 888
@enfys my brain is both celebrating and refusing to accept it. That's awesome
@enfys That's sooo fckn cool, I love it
@enfys you're a genius
Swedish public service TV still supports teletext and I use it daily to catch up on the day's headlines, via the antenna on the roof.
Back in the 70's I bought a DIY kit to make a home terminal connected to a 300 baud acoustic modem for school. It used a teletext chip and simply hooked up to my TV. So cool.
@leffe @enfys
Also here in Italy, Teletext is still supported by our digital TVs!

@enfys You jnow German Teletext services were doing that with Twitter for years now. You tweet somtghing under a special hashtag and they'll curate it and put it onto a special "newsflash" page.
@enfys Germany here. I want my Fedi's via fax machine!
confuse the americans with this one trick
@enfys Tell more!!!
@enfys I love this so much!
@vosje62 Doe mij denken aan de tijd dat #BZK internet te beschikking stelde aan iedereen met #Teletekst. Wanneer is dat geweest? 1997, 1998? #dtv
@enfys teletext was so magical to me when i was a kid. that's so funny to think back on. i take the internet for granted now
@enfys @TheBreadmonkey
It’s sure to catch on!
@JoshuaACNewman @enfys @TheBreadmonkey The wave of the future!
@enfys WHOA!! So cool. Looks similar to how it looks on Lynx.
@enfys OH MY GOD?
BBC Micro Mode 7 probably was the best feature for use today
@simonzerafa the original plan was to give it a go through serial on my bbc micro but this ended up being slightly easier
I used Mode 7 almost exclusively. Freed up so much RAM
@simonzerafa @enfys Ah, I was just about to ask "Does this work on a BBC Micro?"
@kelpana @simonzerafa @enfys definitely... you just need the Acorn ANE01 teletext "cheese wedge"
@enfys watching this space
@enfys ... but ... how?!
p.s.: nice hack!
@enfys, alt text's wrong – says 2 Aug, not 8 Feb.
@lp0_on_fire this was taken before i set the date format correctly to dd/mm/yy from mm/dd/yy
@enfys @lp0_on_fire bow before the superior YY/MM/DD, peasants.
@MxVerda, no. There's a Y2K-type problem there.
@lp0_on_fire YYYY/MM/DD you goddamn dweeb
@enfys that is amazing
@enfys WHAAAAAAAAHAHA
@enfys Amazing. With football league tables available and now potentially Mastodon too, the future is looking brighter by the day.
@enfys want that
I worked in insurance during the late 80s, buying fax machines (for ££££s). Our brokers were concerned at the loss of certainty; the handshake at both ends, as it were.
@enfys But...but how?
@enfys I feel young again!!!
CEEFAX FOREVER!
@enfys A match made in heaven. Man, I loved Teletext.
@enfys yes! Gods I miss teletext. >~<
